Ferryhill mayor to brave the shave

Mayor of Ferryhill, Councillor Curtis Bihari, will brave the shave in support of those suffering from cancer.

The mayor has chosen Teenage Cancer Trust as one of the charities and has been raising money throughout the year with fundraising activities and events. All proceeds will be split between the Cancer Trust and the three Ferryhill Resident Associations.

“For those that know me, they know how much I love my hair, so this is a big thing for me,” joked Mayor Bihari on his Facebook page, “but it will be worth it,” he added, “for the money it will raise for my Mayoral charities, which include Teenage Cancer Trust. This is a fantastic cause and one that is very close to my heart. “This small act of shaving my head is the least I could do to support the brave people tackling cancer. Hopefully, I can raise a good amount.

“For anyone wishing to sponsor me, you can leave a donation at the Town Hall or Ferryhill Sport and Education Centre. I hope to finalise a date in October for the big day. All support will be greatly appreciated and go towards a fantastic cause.”
