Last Wednesday evening, 24 January, Ferryhill Town Council invited local residents and organisations to learn the results of their community consultation.
Last year, the town council commissioned Durham Community Action to facilitate a mass consultation exercise, working with local groups to determine key priorities and issues in the town.
As part of the robust process in designing and shaping the consultation there were various processes involved which helped to steer the consultation in a positive way. Throughout the process the consultation was driven and designed by a Steering Group of local community groups and residents.
The consultation ran from last spring, concluding in the summer.
A total of 1,012 responses were received and the town council intend to use the feedback to provide the focus of their Community Plan.

Mayor, Councillor Curtis Bihari said: “We started this process so we as a council could focus on the priorities that really matter to the residents of Ferryhill. The response was positive but we are always looking to improve our services.
“We plan to use this data to put together a solid plan for Ferryhill going forward.”
