It is important to look after your mental health at any age and if you can give back to your local community at the same it has an even greater impact.
To recognise Mental Health Awareness week Elemore Hall School in Chilton did just that, with all tutor groups engaging in acts of kindness in local community.
Pupils asked the Miners Welfare Trust if they could help with the work to get football back in the Charlie Wayman pitches by litter picking and clearing the field ahead of the one of the first grass cuts with the new tractor.
As well as the litter pick, a group visited the local care home to deliver sweet treats, another group took donations to the food bank and also to local charity shops.
Residents may have also spotted the little notes of kindness hung in key locations through out the neighbourhood.
The weeks activity concluded with a celebratory charity run raising £600 for ‘If You Care Share’ – a sentiment that they would ask everyone to embrace!
