Easter Bunny makes early visit

Some of the crafters displaying their colourful Easter bonnets!

The easter celebrations have started in Chilton with a “Craft Egg-Stravaganza“ at the Miners’ Welfare Pavilion Park, writes Sue Reece.

The event, which combined a traditional egg- hunt and Easter bonnet parade with crafting activities, was enjoyed by young and slightly older residents and their families.

The community event was organised by Joy and Jimmy Houlihan, who provided all of materials for the activities and prizes, with every child receiving a chocolate egg.

The money raised from the tickets is being donated to buy plants for the Miner’s Welfare Pavilion Park – which is looking fabulous in the spring sunshine.

This is the first of a number of activities Joy and Jimmy have planned for the forthcoming months – so look out for a summer Teddy Bear’s Picnic!

Other events in Chilton over the Easter weekend (19 April) include an Easter Fest at The Wheatsheaf, 12 noon – 6pm and St Georges Day Celebration at Chilton Community Sports and Social club 7pm – late.
