Ferryhill Dog Walkers Association held their annual Christmas dinner and auction at All Saints Community Centre last month.
They were entertained by Paul Skerritt, who serenaded them with his selection of hits from the crooners: in the days when you could hear what was being sung!
The community centre put on a good spread for their guests and quite a few people have since booked for their Burns Supper, to be held on
January 25.
The auction was held to help those who may have to make the difficult decision to give up their much loved companions, or worse.
Lady Elizabeth Ann & Laird Roger Stuart Bushnell (FBII) reported that the association raised £855 for cat and dog food for Angel Trust and a further £100 for a local Hedgehog rescue centre.
In all, 30 cases of cat food, 32 cases of dog food and four sacks of dog biscuits were delivered, which Angel Trust will decant into smaller containers.
