Dine & Dance event still going strong after four years

Age UK County Durham’s Come Eat Together Team, in partnership with Shildon Civic Hall, have been hosting the Shildon Dine and Dance for over four years.

The dance has been popular from the beginning and is the perfect opportunity to have a delicious cooked meal followed by two hours of dancing to live music.

Christine Fletcher, Development Manager said, “Last month Graeme Scarlett stepped down from his position as organist and we would like to take this opportunity to thank him for his contribution to the dance since the very beginning.

“Graeme provided excellent music from the very first dance. He has made the Dine and Dance a success and we wish him luck in the future.

“Our new organist Michael Foxcroft will now continue to provide the live music and keep everyone dancing to the ever-popular modern ballroom and sequence dances”.

The Shildon Dine and Dance takes place the first Wednesday of every month at Shildon Civic Hall. Lunch is served at 12 noon followed by dancing from 1pm until 3pm, all for £6.00 per person. Go along to dance, or simply enjoy the music. Everyone is welcome.
