Dean Midas swaps horror for football in new Willington AFC documentary

An award winning film director is turning his attention to a local football club for a behind the scenes documentary.

Dean Midas, will be following Steve “Howey” Howe, who will be heading up Willington’s new management team with the backing of Lee Genner, Danny Lee, Lewis Graham & Chris Storey.

Dean will be with the club for 4 weeks, as they prepare for the 2024/25 season in the Wearside league. The documentary will speak to the new manager, be at the club’s opening training sessions, be behind the scenes for all the transfer gossip and chat. Ending with footage of their first friendly at home to Crook on Tuesday 2nd July.

Dean said, “I’m really looking forward to making this documentary. It was announced on the club’s Facebook page the other day and the support is really, really positive. Huge thanks the Chairman, Carl Whelpdale for giving me this amazing opportunity”

Dean plans to follow the club for 4 weeks and hopes to release the documentary on YouTube in early July. Dean will then return to his horror roots as he prepares for The Legend of Sayer Hicks, the follow up to hugely successful The Devil’s Stone.
