Deakon wins funding for Hand Up Bags project

Deakon, a local young person who volunteers his time at Shildon Alive was recently awarded grant aid from Shildon Town Council towards his idea of Hand Up Bags for people in Shildon and surrounding areas.

Deakon’s Hand Up bags consist of a drawstring bag containing: new socks; a toothbrush and toothpaste; body wash; baby wipes; new underwear (male and female); hand sanitiser; a blanket; an emergency blanket; body scrunchy and razors.

Shildon Town Council is taking donations for the project from the list above.
