Blaine Richardson (15), Sarah Harker (15) and Abbie Wilkinson (11), who are all students at Richardson’s Dance Studio in Bishop Auckland, were thrilled to be nominated for the prestigious International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA) Freestyle Scholarship Awards 2013.
Candidates are initially nominated by an IDTA Examiner if they achieve 90% (Honours) marks in their High Grade Dance Exams, together with showing outstanding and exceptional dance potential.
Over 5,000 candidates from all over Great Britain took their Freestyle exams last year with the IDTA. Only 130 were nominated by Examiners for the 2013 Scholarship Awards.
A spokesperson for Richardson’s commented, “The three young dancers managed to finish in the top 55 of candidates, a massive achievement and a credit to all of their hard work and dedication shown to their dance training over the years.”
