Auckland /Chilton Croquet Club welcomed members of the Spennymoor WI at the weekend on a return visit after their introduction last year, reports Richard Peck.
Each member was paired with a club player and, with the sun finally shining, everyone enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and competition. We look forward to them returning in the future.
Meanwhile, in the absence of a league match, ACC players will travel down to Bishop Monckton near Ripon this week for a friendly match.
If you would like to have a go at croquet, come on down and have a free starter session. We play on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday afternoons from 2pm until 4pm-ish.
All the coaching and equipment is free for you, you just have to wear flat shoes, a waterproof jacket and maybe a hat (just in case the weather is changeable).
The club plays at the Miners Recreation Ground, Chilton just behind the Jet filling station on the A167. Come down or give the club a call on 07801 190896.
