Councillors in foodbank donation

Cllrs Pete Molloy, Andy Anderson and Elizabeth Wood, with some of the donated food.

Tudhoe Ward independent town councillor, Andy Anderson received support from a couple of his fellow independents when he put a request out for donations towards the local food bank at the St Paul’s Centre.

The councillors took the donations to the food bank in December so people in need over the Christmas period would not go hungry.

Cllr Anderson said: “I knew some families would be struggling to feed themselves and I wanted to do my bit to help them put food on the table and the local food bank do a great job in our community.

“I received donations from councillors Pete Molloy and Elizabeth Wood, as well as family members, and thank them all for their support. Thanks also to councillors Billy McAloon and Liz Maddison and a member of the public. The food bank was very grateful for our donations.”
