Shildon Town Councillor Jeff Miller will be taking part in the Great North Run on Sunday 15th September in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Cllr Miller is hoping to raise £1,000 by running the half marathon.
He previously raised around the same amount when he took part in the annual event may years ago, while caretaker of Timothy Hackworth Primary School.
