Council contributes to funding

The cheque is presented to Paula Bihari and Collette Trimmer from Ferryhill Community Partnership.

Ferryhill Community Partnership is the latest group to receive funding through Ferryhill Town Council’s Members Initiative Fund (MIF).

Representatives from the organisation, Paula Bihari and Collette Trimmer, recently attended a cheque presentation at Ferryhill Town Hall, where Councillors Vicky Collins, Bernie Lamb and Christine Woods presented them with a cheque for £1,000 from their MIF allocations.

Funds donated through the scheme will be used to enable a community defibrillator to be installed in an easily accessible location, outside Ferryhill Sports & Education Centre, so that it can be of benefit to the whole community.

Cllrs Collins, Lamb and Woods said: “We are delighted to be able to support such a worthwhile project, which will ensure that a life-saving defibrillator is fully accessible for the community, in the event of a medical emergency.”
