Old Shildon Club has lost one of it’s lifetime supporters, Mr Allan Bell, writes club secretary Phil Blackett.
Allan, who spent over 45 years on the committee, was the club chairman before he sadly passed away earlier this month.
Loved by everyone, Allan was a great friend to all. He would do anything to help different groups, inside and outside the club.
I remember one funny incident when Allan was in charge of the alarm telephone. The phone rang during the night, so he went to investigate and took his dog with him. When he got to the club, he opened the door and let the dog run in first – luckily, nobody was inside!
We are all going to miss him, no-one more than myself – Allan was a great friend and colleague.
