A local businessman who was hoping to resurrect the Shildon Chamber of Trade & Town Watch, which ceased to exist in early 1999, has had a positive response from traders in the town, and has organised an informal meeting.
Chris Bowman, of Console Connections commented, “I recently sent letters out looking to gain support for this to happen, and I am pleased to say the response has been very positive.”
The meeting will take place at Shildon Civic Hall on Monday 31st March at 6.15pm.
The idea behind the project is to give all the businesses in the town a group voice and the chance to liaise with development agencies, the local council and police to promote trade in the town.
