St Mary’s season gets underway

St Mary’s Juniors took part in fifteen games last weekend with six wins, six losses and three draws. The U7 Aces started out their league games with a good game at Norton and Stockton with four goals from Man-of-the-Match Luca McMahon and one from Ben Lowerson.

The U7 Kings had a great game at home to Newton Aycliffe Juniors with a goal from Arron Littlefair and a hat-trick from Jake Wilkin-son, with Joel Carline Man-of-the-Match.

The U8 Aces played the St Mary’s U8 Kings in their first league game of the season and the Aces took a one goal lead through Jamie Wright into the half time break. But the Kings came back strong with goals from Joel Butler and a McKenzie Kirtley hat-trick. Curtis Fortune took the Man-of-the-Match award.

The U9 Aces drew 1-1 against Newton Aycliffe Eagles with Sam Hopper scoring and Xander Caygill collecting Man-of-the- James Kirwin Plumbing & Heating  Match. The development match was very close too with a narrow win and goals from Clarke Lightfoot (2) and Man-of-the-Match, Ethan Tate.

The U9 Kings drew 2-2 with both goals from James Whales. Noah Fawcett was Man-of-the-Match.

The U10 Aces came up against a strong Middleton Rangers side and lost by the odd goal with Jay Binks scoring for St Mary’s and Antos Biniszkiewicz Man-of-the-Match.
The friendly match stars were St Mary’s players Finley Thomas and Max Foot.

The U11 Aces drew 2-2 against Richmond Town with Kyle Emery scoring two and Tyler Dickinson Man-of-the-Match.

The U11 Kings lost out to Newton Aycliffe Youth after leading 1-0 at half time.

The U12 Aces lost to Eaglesclife with Declan Trotter (2) and Man-of-the-Match, Robbie Vickers scoring. The U12 Kings lost to Grangetown with Sonny Richardson scoring.

The U13’s had a good 9-1 win over Polton Allstars with goals from Regan Nixon (4), Jack Purdham (2), Alfie Madgewick (2) and Joe Seymour.

The U14 Aces won 6-0 against Stokesley with goals from Adam Dovaston (2), Aldsworth, Ellis Lynch and Kanyondo.

The U14 Kings won 2-1 away at Greatham with Curtis Curl Man-of-the-Match and goalscorers Jack Glasper and Connor Jackman. The U16s won 3-1 against Tibs Blues with goals from Cieran Jackson, Aidan Crooks and Ellis Tait.

The U17s played their second league game of the season against South Tyneside on Tuesday night on the new floodlit 3G all-weather pitch at St John’s School, and after going behind 1-0 went on to win 6-1 with goals from Steven Taylor and Kieran Maughan. There are seven home games to look forward to on Sunday (20th September) with one extra-special visitor.

Five-year-old Mason Campion, nephew of one of the managers, who is suffering from terminal cancer, is going along to be mascot for the U12 Aces where he will be presented with a £2,000 cheque from the club to help his appeal to get him to Disneyland, Paris.
