Shannon Wilkinson, from Ferryhill, completed the Great North Run in just over two hours last month in an attempt to raise funds for Bright Futures Ferryhill CIC.
Her training paid off as Shannon battled through the route and successfully completed her goal, raising a fantastic £373.40 in the process.
Shannon visited Hannah and the children at Bright Futures Ferryhill CIC to share the good news and to talk about what the children wanted to do with the funds.
Some ideas included making slime, a trip to see the horses and one even asked for flights to Gibraltar!
Bright Futures director, Hannah Wilkinson said: “We are so grateful to Shannon for the effort she went to in raising much needed funds for the children’s programme we run here at Bright Futures. We had some fabulous suggestions and are going to put the money towards Christmas activities.”
