Spennymoor Boxing Academy celebrated another fantastic year of hard work, dedication, and community spirit at their annual Presentation Evening, writes John McIvor.
The event was a chance to recognise the achievements of our boxers, thank our supporters, and look back on another successful season in and out of the ring.
A huge thank you goes to our sponsors, Spennymoor town councillors and our incredible volunteer coaches, whose time and commitment keep the club running for the benefit of our community.
We would also like to extend our gratitude to Dominic Cummings and his wife Mary, who have supported the club for many years and kindly made a generous donation to help us continue our work.
The night was packed with celebration as we honoured our boxers for their outstanding performances and progress this season:
โข Rookie of the Year: Charlie Davis & Billy Jo Hammond
โข Prospect of the Year: Dalton Quinn & Levi Jackson
โข Best Junior: Archie McIvor
โข Most Improved: Alesha Tolley
โข Best Youth: Bobby Winn
โข Female Boxer of the Year: Macie Davis
โข Best Senior Youth: Ellis Dixon
โข Best Senior: Aaron Barker
โข Boxer of the Year: Lucas Sewell
โข Best Future Prospect: Tommy McCaloon.
A special and heartfelt thanks goes to Steph Ellis, whose tireless work behind the scenes made the whole evening possible.
From organising the venue to coordinating awards, decorations and running orders, Stephโs dedication ensured the night ran perfectly and will be remembered for years to come.
We were also honoured to welcome former professional champions Stuart Hall and Glen McCrory, whose presence made the night even more memorable.
Spennymoor Boxing Academy would like to thank everyone who continues to support the club, helping us provide a safe, affordable, and inspiring environment for young people in our community to grow both inside and outside the ring.
