December saw the annual Shildon Indoor Bowls Winter Shield competition held at Sunnydale Leisure Centre reports Bob Webster.
The mixed triples competition, sponsored by local businessman George Smith Electrical, was contested by 30 club members during a full day’s play which included a pie and peas lunch and a Christmas raffle with over 50 prizes.
After a series of round robin games, the eventual winners of the tournament were David Holmes, Stuart Turner, and Frank Fenwick, who will retain the trophy until next December.
