As the curtain falls on the season, I would like to take the opportunity to thank our kind and generous sponsors, our dedicated volunteers, the management team, our players and our loyal fans for supporting us every step of the way.
Well what an up and down season we have had and so glad to be finishing the season in the top half of the table, but it’s taken some tenacity from Manager, Leon, Assistant Manager, Dave and coaches Dave and Jack to keep us there.
We definitely have something to build on next season, with lessons learnt in so many ways both on and off the field.
After a good meeting with the management team, plans are in place for the close season and pre-season for us all to look forward to, hopefully setting us on the right foot ready for next season.
As Leon has said, there have been some highs, some really good highs, some lows and some really frustrating lows, but our home form has to improve to help get our fans through the gate and that’s something Leon is working very hard on for next season.
Off the field we have lots to look forward to with new floodlights, We Buy Any Car joining us as sponsors, new solar panels, new share sales, great club shop sales, some excellent ground improvements with our fantastic community Fan Zone coming along nicely, which will be ready for pre-season.
We are already looking forward to next season with new teams and new grounds to visit.
We welcome Blyth Spartans and Redcar Athletic to the NPL East.
Our commiserations go to our neighbours and friends at Shildon FC who narrowly miss promotion for the second year running. Good luck to Newcastle Blue Star and Blyth Town who compete in the play off finals.
