Young people from the Shildon Youth Council, Jubilee Fields Community Centre Junior Club and Kids in the Garden Club took part in the Big Spring Clean, as part of the Litterfree Durham Campaign, on Tuesday 15th April.
Shildon Town Council, livin and volunteers were on-hand to help, and the group set off from Jubilee Fields Community Centre to clear litter from the Jubilee Fields green area down to the train station.
A spokesperson commented, “Fifteen bags of litter were collected by all involved and a big thank you goes to all the children, young people and volunteers who helped.
“Thanks also to Durham County Council for the loan of the equipment and to Jubilee Fields Community Centre for the use of the building.”
