Timothy Hackworth Park will host an outdoor extravaganza for all the family, which brings live music and entertainment to Shildon as part of Durham’s annual BRASS festival.
Aimed at audiences of all ages, the event will tour Durham over five nights, bringing fantastic live music and entertainment to five locations, including Hackworth Park on Tuesday 14th July between 6pm and 9pm.
The event will see Leeds-based Hope and Social team up with Yorkshire’s New York Brass Band to deliver an event to remember.
The collaboration comes to Shildon as part of the Big BRASS Bash tour, which will see the bands perform across the county.
They’re also planning to premiere a very special song at the event as the two bands look to write a new song every day to add to their sets.
The tour will prepare the way for the main BRASS festival, an annual celebration of the county’s musical culture and tradition developed and delivered by Durham County Council.
Hope and Social and New York Brass Band will be joined by boundary-pushing Italian street band Bandakadabra, and Les Traine-Savates, who will bring a little funk to the party all the way from France.
Michael Eavis, founder of Hope & Social, said: “We’re having a ball working with New York Brass Band and can’t wait to unveil what we’ve got planned for the Big BRASS Bash tour.”
A spokesperson for the event commented, “Bring a picnic, some deckchairs and prepare to party at this fantastic free event.”
