Bishop Auckland and Shildon AAP has £10,000 Big Arts Funding available for not-for-profit organisations and groups to support the delivery of Culture and Arts projects that ensure mental health and wellbeing is promoted in communities.
A Big Arts Project will work across all age groups to help people come together to improve their mental health, wellbeing and resilience through creativity using local artists and community assets.
Projects can include traditional craft, sculpture, digital art, text, dance, film, literature, music, singing, gardening and the culinary arts, including innovative ideas relevant at a local level.
Achievements of the individuals and groups involved in the programme will be celebrated, so the promotion, recording and evidencing of all activities is actively encouraged.
Project activity and impact will be displayed and promoted during World Mental Health Week from 7 until 13 October.
A minimum of £2,500 funding can be applied for any one project.
The deadline for receiving applications is 12pm, Monday 29 April.
