Ferryhill Banner Group has extended its thanks to everyone who supported the Mainsforth and Dean & Chapter Miners Banners and the Ferryhill Town Band as they paraded through the streets of Ferryhill and at Durham Miners Gala last weekend.
Group member, Peter Atkinson said: “On behalf of all of us at the Ferryhill Banner Group, we extend our heartfelt thanks for the continued support of our community in attending and supporting the Ferryhill parade on Friday evening of our iconic Miners banners and the march into the Durham Miners Gala.
“The support of our community makes a real difference in preserving our traditions and ensuring our community can come together each year to celebrate at the Durham Miners’ Gala.
“The Ferryhill Banner Group were proud to march into Durham with our Banners held high.
“The Ferryhill Town band were exceptional in providing the music to accompany our group, it was a day to be proud of Ferryhill.”
