Shildon AFC Over 40s’ first league game away from home was a comfortable three nil win at Sunderland Pennywell Comrades last Saturday, 26th August.
A few good chances were wasted by the visitors before Allan Bell opened the scoring after good attacking play and a sublime finish.
Striker Bell was causing the home team plenty of problems and he was brought down in the area just before half time for a penalty kick which Neil Bannister converted.
Midway through the second half, Bell was again brought down from behind in the area and Bannister bagged his second from the penalty spot.
It was a decent all round performance by all the players, especially the midfielders and man of the match, David Bulleyment.
After two opening wins, the side are second in the Sunderland and District Over 40s League Division Four table behind Hedworthfield Red Hackle on goal difference.
The side’s next game on Saturday 2nd September is at home to Sedgefield FC. Kick off is 10.30am.
