Croquet club latest

Due to one of the teams dropping out of the top division, Auckland/Chilton Croquet Club have fewer fixtures to complete than last year, reports Richard Peck.

To compensate for this, two friendly matches were arranged with the Backworth Croquet Club.

The fixtures saw a highly entertaining competition with a close finish.

The first Croquet North League fixtures saw ACC take on Durham Bede at Chester le Street on Saturday 25th with the home side recording an emphatic 16-2 win.

If you would like to have a go at croquet, come on down and have a free starter session.

We play on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday afternoons from 2pm until 4pm-ish. All the coaching and equipment is free for you, you just have to wear flat shoes, a waterproof jacket and maybe a hat (just in case the weather is changeable).

The club plays at the Miners Recreation Ground, Chilton just behind the Jet filling station on the A167. Come down or give us a call on 07801 190896.
