ACC have played two matches so far this season.
Their first match ended in defeat away at Bishop Monkton. For the first time in a friendly match for over five years, Monkton ran out winners by 115 hoops to 103.
Then came a trip to Backworth for their first Croquet North League match. Unfortunately, Backworth were in amazing form and proceeded to annihilate ACC by 17 games to 1!
The next league match is away at Durham Bede on 27 June when they hope for a turnaround in fortune.
The club invites anyone who might like to have a go at croquet to get in touch. Your first two sessions and all equipment is free to use and you’ll have free tuition to help build confidence and skills. They play at the Chilton Miners’ Welfare Recreation Ground on Chilton Way.
Practice days are Wednesday, Friday and Sunday afternoons from 2pm to 4pm. Wear some flat shoes, bring a waterproof jacket in case of a light shower and a hat to protect from the sun!
