Ferryhill Athletic have announced their new manager for the forthcoming season, and it is a familiar face in first team player, Kieron Richardson.
Richardson has agreed to take on the role of player-manager, and will be joined by Paul Gillham and Billy Snaith.
Club chairman, Chris Orton said: “We are delighted to appoint Kieron as the new boss.
“He’s both an ace player and a top-class coach and we’re very proud to have him as an integral part of the club.”
Secretary Jeff Spooner added: “I’m pleased that Kieron has decided to take the job. He is a very experienced player, with a coaching background through his day job and I’m sure he will take on the challenge of leading the Athletic to future success.”
Richardson said: “I’d like to say thank you to the club for putting faith in both myself and the management team.
“I couldn’t have a better person than Billy alongside me, and Paul is truly amazing in everything he does for the Athletic.
“We are looking forward to the challenge, know the objective is to get the club promoted, and will give 100% effort towards this goal.
“Over the last two weeks the management team have seen great commitment and excellent performances in the recent friendlies, which shows to us as a group there is a lot to look forward to this season.
“We would love for the town to get behind the lads and become our 12th man and look forward to seeing the supporters at Dean Bank Rec this season.”
