Ambassadors for Community Change update

Last week, the Ambassadors for Community Change were on speed watch.

Last week, Broom Cottages Primary Ambassadors for Community Change carried out a Community Speed Watch on Broom Road.

Glenys from Approach Too said, “It was really busy but when drivers saw the Ambassadors, they all slowed down. The Ambassadors raised driver’s awareness, so job done. Both children and adults in Ferryhill have told us that people drive too fast.

“Children have told us that playing outside with friends makes them happy and healthy, but drivers speeding makes them and their parents feel unsafe, so they don’t always get to play out.

“The final message from the Ambassadors is to slow down and stop driving too fast in Ferryhill. Big thanks to Val Watson, PCSO Tom and Emma, our Neighbourhood Warden’s for their continuing support.

“Remember the faster you’re driving, the less time you have to react, and the more likely pedestrians will be hurt or killed in a collision.”

Dean Bank Ambassadors for Community Change also called into Ferryhill Fruit N Veg Shop to say thank you to Clair. Since Clair opened Ferryhill Fruit N Veg, she has donated any surplus produce to Dean Bank Primary School for children and families to enjoy.

Clair an ex-pupil said, “It’s an absolute pleasure to support children and families in Ferryhill. It’s a great environmentally friendly solution to food waste.”

The Ambassadors said they appreciate Clair’s kind gesture, and they are very proud to support a business that supports the community.
