Amazing Easter egg appeal result

Students from Bishop Auckland College have gone above and beyond organising an Easter egg appeal.

Lecturer Coordinator Becca Pearce said recently: “Since February, our Employability Level 1 students have been working hard to organise an Easter Egg Appeal in support of Shildon Alive and the Shildon Town Council’s Easter Egg Collection.

“They have shown great confidence and determination, speaking with college staff, fellow students, and local businesses to request donations.

“Thanks to their efforts, we are incredibly proud to have collected a total of 125 Easter eggs.

“These have now been passed to Shildon Alive and then on to Shildon Town Council, who will ensure they reach children in the local community this Easter.

“This project has been a fantastic opportunity for our students to put their skills into practice.

“As part of their Employability course, they are encouraged to develop transferable skills that will support them in future education and employment.

“Through this experience, they have built confidence in communication, improved their teamwork, and developed their problem-solving and organisational skills.

“We would like to say a huge thank you to all the local businesses who kindly donated eggs, as well as the college staff and students who supported the appeal.

“We are extremely proud of our students, not just for the number of eggs collected, but for the effort, commitment and positivity they have shown throughout the project.”

Well done to everyone involved!
