I’ve lost count of the number of times that I’ve publicly and privately stated that it’s a privilege and honour to serve as Mayor of Ferryhill: it has been and will remain so until my term ends in May next year. It’s something I will never forget.
I’ve been lucky to have met and, in some cases, get to know so many wonderful people, members of our community who do so much every day to make our lives richer and bring the disparate parts of the community together. They’re amongst the Jewels of Ferryhill. Thank you for showing me what you do and allowing me to express the wider community’s gratitude for your efforts.
So, my Christmas message is about the value of community, to cherish our charities, including my mayoral charities Little Treasures and Stray Aid, but also the other groups, businesses and individuals working hard to make this town a better place to live. Thank you to them and I wish all the people of Ferryhill a very warm, peaceful and very Happy Christmas.
Angus Ferguson, Mayor of Ferryhill
