I have had both the honour and pleasure of being your Mayor since May, and I wish to take this opportunity of thanking each and every one of you for the support I have received.
Being Mayor has brought me into contact with many residents and our community.
I have met dedicated and wonderful residents supporting our young people, elderly, and families in Chilton. To these thank you.
Christmas is a time of celebration and looking forward to the new year to come.
I ask that you take time this festive season to think of those here in Chilton, in County Durham, in Great Britain and beyond who are not as fortunate as ourselves. They all need our thoughts, prayers, and help.
At this Festive Time many will be working and unable to spend time with their loved ones.
May I send a big thank you and best wishes to all our emergency service colleagues, to staff in hospitals, care home, our armed forces. I also say thank you to those working in the retail, catering sector and to those working in shops, those working to keep us warm and have electricity and gas, we appreciate all that you do for us not only at this festive season but throughout the year.
May I on behalf of the Members and Officers of Chilton Town Council wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous and healthy 2024.
