On Saturday November 7th, Shildon girl Elizabeth Wood ran her 100th parkrun and was proud to achieve her century on home turf at Hackworth Park.
Elizabeth, who will be 22 on November 15th, has been a keen runner since the age of nine and has competed in road races and cross country events across the length and breadth of the country.
Along with thousands of other runners, Elizabeth enjoys her regular Saturday morning 5k parkrun and is proud to have joined the parkrun 100 Club.
She is now looking forward to receiving her coveted 100 club T-shirt.
Never one to rest on her laurels, Elizabeth’s next parkrun aim is to become a member of the 250 Club, a goal which, by the time she achieves it, will have seen her run 1,250 parkrun kilometres alongside the kilometres she’ll run in training, and in the many competitions which she has planned for the future.
Hackworth parkrun takes place every Saturday morning at 9am and the start line is just next to the Masonic Hall.
