It was a busy Gala week for Spennymoor Town Mayor, Cllr Billy McAloon.
On Monday 29 June he was out and about judging the annual Shop Window competition in the town. He was pleasantly surprised at the efforts of the participants but sadly, there could only be 1 winner. A huge congratulations to Pathways, based in the Leisure Centre.
On Thursday 2 July the Mayor and Consort formally opened Spennymoor Gala in Jubilee Park and returned to the park on Saturday to judge the vintage cars.
The Mayor said, “It’s been a brilliant week in Spennymoor. It was lovely to meet so many people in our town.
“The Gala is something we can all be proud of as it is a long-standing tradition which is invaluable to our community. Well done to the Gala Committee for all their hard work, and especially well done to Pathways for their winning entry in the Shop Window Competition!!”
