While fans take a breather from a frenetic football season which included a mid-season World Cup, activity has been unrelenting at Spennymoor Town FC as the club strengthens both its mens and ladies teams.
The first new signing to put pen to paper was the versatile Reece Staunton, who arrives from Bradford (Park Avenue). Staunton has been joined at the club by Bradford teammate and midfielder Sam Fielding, goalkeeper James Montgomery, forward Will Harris, full-back Keenan Ferguson and defender Ben Pollock. The side has also agreed new deals with Connor Shanks, Michael Ledge, James Curtis, and Mark Anderson. The club has also recruited Andy Innes as first team coach.
Meanwhile, Billy Shackleton has agreed a new one-year deal to remain as manager of the Ladies side and has moved to strengthen the squad with the signings of winger Beth Enguita, former Chester-le-Street captain, Neve Jackson, and highly-rated goalkeeper Sophie Miller. The ladies have also agreed a deal to play their home games at New Ferens Park next season.
