Shildon

Pupils and staff at St Johns Church of England Primary School were excited to receive a visit from the new Bishop of Durham, Revd. Rick Simpson.  

A 10 year old football mad schoolboy from Shildon has raised more than £520 for local boy's and men mental health charity, Brothers, after completing an inspiring month long football challenge.

The Town Council is greatly appreciative to Mr Aldworth for the work he has done on the bandstand and fountain, helping spruce up the tired looking structures at a time where the whole world is celebrating railway heritage, innovation and global expansion of this mode of transport.

A former Reform UK councillor in County Durham has become an Independent. 

Flying Scotsman will be on display at the museum in Shildon and, on selected days, visitors will be able to step back in time with a ride behind the locomotive, travelling along a section of the original Stockton and Darlington Railway line.

Residents of Shildon may have noticed work being carried out over the last few months by Direct Works to reduce and restrict access by vehicles to certain areas of land belonging to the Town Council.
