Tenlands Care Home Staff Shortlisted for North East Awards

Two members of staff at Tenlands care home made the shortlist for the Northern Echo Health and Care Awards 2022 in partnership with County Durham Care Partnership. 

Jill Carr, registered Home Manager was shortlisted as a finalist for the “Care Hero of the Year”. The judging panel explained that Jill had demonstrated that she makes a difference to people’s lives every single day. Her commitment and hard work has enabled residents to live an independent, safe and fulfilled life. 

Nicola Howarth was also nominated in the “Care Home Worker of the Year” category for her outstanding contribution to the delivery of care in the home itself. As the Care home residential chef, Nicola has an unwavering commitment of over 20 years doing everything she can to improve the quality of life of the residents with her fantastic nutritious meals.

Both nominations are a testament to the hard work that goes in to making Tenlands Care Home one of the best care facilities in the Country. Cllr Curtis Bihari paid a visit to Tenlands this week to wish both Nicola and Jill the best of luck and thank them for their many years of hard work looking after the residents of Ferryhill. 

He said “I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Tenlands Care Home, meeting the wonderful staff and the residents. Tenlands is an “Outstanding” rated service and it was clear to see why. Nicola and Jill are fantastic ambassadors for the care home and fully deserving of their nominations.”
