County Durham is seeing an increase in the number of people accessing food and wellbeing support services such as community gardens, community fridges, food redistribution projects and community cafes as the growing cost of living crisis hits.
In response to this, Durham Community Action (DCA) is relaunching the Community Good Food Network and is interested in hearing from community food and growing projects in County Durham at their online meeting taking place on Tuesday 17 May.
Initially started during 2020 in response to a need exacerbated by the pandemic, the Community Food Network is intended to encourage peer support for like minded organisations in the county and to give staff and volunteers the opportunity to talk about the subjects that matter most to them.
“We are really interested in hearing what you want from the network,” said DCA on its website, “and have put together a very short survey which we would appreciate you completing.
“The survey is open until Friday 13 May and we will be discussing the results at the network meeting on the 17th.”
