A spokesperson for Ferryhill Dog Walkies Association writes: “We held our annual Christmas Auction and Dinner at All Saints Community Centre on Saturday 13 December, where we raised £1,100 that was converted to Cat and Dog food along with some pet beds for The Hub in Ferryhill.
“Our members and friends dug deep into their wallets and purses again this year, we purchased enough cat and dog food to fill 3 cars and one passenger seat.
“Last year’s contribution fed dogs up to September with some cat food biscuits lasting through December, special thanks go to Santa’s helpers Keith Norris (honorary dog walker) & Malcolm Gibson who ably assisted with their cars and time to collect and deliver.”
