Due to the serious nature of the allegations and for fear that he might interfere with witnesses and commit further offences, a 31 year-old Bishop Auckland man was remanded in custody and the matters committed to the Crown Court in Durham on April 27th.
Richard Bowser, of Worcester Place, currently on remand at Holme House Prison in Stockton, is accused of maliciously wounding Linda Trowles in Crook on October 25th last year.
The defendant will reappear via video link at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court on April 29th and again for commital on May 20th for other matters relating to affray, threats to kill and possession of a dangerous weapon.
