After her recent gruelling grading which ended with ten full contact fights, we are proud to announce that Michelle Corner, who has trained at our club for many years, is now a Kyokushin black belt, writes Adam Walker.
Michelle joins her husband, Lee and stepson Kyle, who also hold the rank of black belt.
Three Kyokushin black belts in one family – what an achievement. Well done indeed Michelle. You are a credit to yourself, your family, our club and our community.
Anyone can have a black belt – they can be bought easily. To have a Kyokushin black belt however requires hard work and dedication.
The Chikara Dojo offers mixed lessons (both adults and children together).
Instructor Lee Corner commented: “It’s fantastic to be able to train alongside my son and wife.
“It’s a great way for us to bond, keep fit and to learn how to protect ourselves – something everyone should be doing.
“We love the community spirit at our club. We help each other.
“It is far more than just a karate club”.
For more information about this exciting club please check out their Facebook page by searching ‘Chikara Dojo’ or call me, Chief Instructor Adam Walker, on 07713 411198.
Don’t just sit there, get involved! Maybe you too could be a Kyokushin black belt one day.
