Bishop Auckland Table Tennis sessions restart

Table Tennis sessions take place at Henknowle Community Centre on Friday mornings from 10am till 12pm

Bishop Auckland Table Tennis Club is now back up and running following the COVID-19 pandemic and various lockdowns.

Head coach, Ryan Morton said: “After the previous two years, we are open three nights a week, and offer sessions for all abilities and ages and have recently just launched our women’s and Girl’s session, and our Bat and Chat session.

“Whether you’re returning to the sport, or trying it for the first time, we can help.

All our coaches are DBS checked, safeguarding trained, and first aid qualified for your peace of mind.”

Sessions take place throughout the week at Bishop Barrington Academy, Henknowle Community Centre and Auckland Youth and Community Centre on Woodhouse Close estate.

Bishop Auckland Tale Tennis Club are a Table Tennis England Premier level club, with community and participation at the heart of their ethos.

As a community organisation, they are committed to being a Table Tennis club that supports the local area: priding themselves on offering a welcoming and friendly environment, making table tennis accessible to all ages and abilities whether as a player or volunteer.

They provide pathways to accommodate all ages and levels of ability from total beginners though to national and international players.

For younger players they offer a progressive coaching pathway with players starting in beginners’ sessions. These sessions have been designed to be more casual and social. Players will then have the option to progress into our Futures Squad and finally our Top Squad.

For the seniors, they offer open sessions for social play or training with other players and also offer coaching for those who want to learn more and improve their own game.

BATTC sessions include over 50s, Women and Girls only, Disabilities, Social play along with Junior Coaching and Adult Coaching.

All sessions lead into opportunities to play for the club in various leagues such as the National Cadet League, National Junior League, Junior British League and the Senior British League.

Sessions have no dress code but do suggest sportswear and trainers.

Bats and balls are provided so no need to buy anything prior to attending.

The first session if free and then each session is £5 (or £4 with your membership) which will need to be paid by card/bank transfer or cash at the hall.
