Young Bulls too strong for U10s

The Ferryhill Town Youth Under 10s travelled to Darlington on Sunday morning to take on the Young Bulls at their Blackwell Meadows ground.

The first half was a close affair, but Ferryhill just couldn’t get into their stride and struggled to get a foothold in the game.

Darlington got a break-through late in the half and took a 1-0 lead into the interval.

The second half was a similar story as Ferryhill created half chances that couldn’t be converted.

Darlington played some good football and scored another two goals without reply.

Aaron, Rueban, Addison and Noah came off the bench and things brightened up, but Darlington held onto their three goal lead until the final whistle. The second game was a goal fest with both teams playing good football and there was some good finishing on display.

Attack after attack for both sides resulted in a twelve goal thriller.

Zach and Reuban shared the goalkeeper duties and all eleven players had plenty of game time.

Eventually, Ferryhill were just on the wrong side of the scoreline with the Young Bulls running out 7-5 winners.

Meanwhile, club coaches will be hosting a fundraising race night at the Dean & Chapter on Friday night, 3rd November.

“Come along and get involved,” said team coach, Paul McKeown.

“There are top prizes to be won and plenty going on and of course you will be helping raise funds to support the youn footballers of Ferryhill.”
