World Day of Prayer 2024

St David’s Church, Tudhoe.

This year, St David’s Church, Tudhoe, is hosting World Day of Prayer on Friday 1 March at 6.30pm.

All denominations, ages, nationalities and gender are welcome.

There is no charge, just an hour of your time, followed by a cup of tea in a church close to home.

World Day of Prayer has been an annual event for over a hundred years, on the first Friday of March.

Every year, a short service is written by the women of a specific country, reflecting their ups and downs.

This year it is from the Christian women of Palestine, and although written before the war broke out, it gives us an insight into their lives and the theme, Peace, is totally appropriate now.

As dawn breaks, the wave of prayer begins in Western Samoa and Tonga and it will end in American Samoa at dusk, having travelled through every continent.

Due to problems with the heating in church, the service will be in St David’s Church Hall, which is just behind the church and the car park.
