A real success story has been unfolding in Spennymoor where Weardale Makers’ Markets (WMM) have been hosting monthly craft fairs at Spennymoor Leisure Centre since February this year — and the response has been fantastic, say the organisers.
With over six years of experience running markets across the region, the organisers ensure that every seller offers high-quality, handmade and locally produced goods.
What started with just 15 traders at the first event has now grown to over 45 stalls, showcasing everything from unique gifts and crafts to delicious homemade food.
Customer feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with visitors praising the warm, friendly atmosphere and the wonderful variety of stalls on offer.
The next market will take place on Saturday 6 December, open from 10am to 2pm at the leisure centre. It’s the perfect opportunity to find that special handmade gift, just in time for Christmas, while supporting local small businesses.
