Sedgefield Water Polo Club would like to congratulate Indie (12) and Vihra (13) on representing the North East Region at the U14 Inter Regions tournament held in Walsall, West Midlands, over the weekend of 2nd and 3rd December.
This is a tournament where all regions of the country, including Ireland & Scotland, compete against each other in order to be crowned ‘Inter Regional’ Winners.
The North East Steelers were placed in a group alongside South West Sharks, West Midland Warriers and South East.
After an initial 11-3 loss against South East, the girls next game against South West Sharks was much closer, with a 7-6 loss.
The subsequent game, against West Midlands Warriers, was unfortunately another loss, this time 9-6, meaning the girls were in the play offs for 8th-9th place.
The girls were determined to break their streak of losses and played fantastic against East Angels, winning with an impressive 15-5 and securing a place in Division 2 for the U16 tournament in 18 months’ time.
In addition to Junior and Senior sessions, Sedgefield Water Polo Club now offers a beginner session at Newton Aycliffe Leisure Centre on a Saturday afternoon for those wishing to try this fun and exciting sport.
