Chilton Juniors U7’s continued their unbeaten start to the season last Saturday with a 2-1 win at New Ferens Park.
The boys started well, holding their positions and playing some beautiful football. Their efforts were soon rewarded when Finlee met a well timed ball from Dylan.
The lead was soon doubled after Freddy won the ball in the middle before finding Finlee who struck it with his left foot into the bottom corner.
The ever reliable George teamed up well with Junior, who made some awesome saves to keep out the opposition.
A change in tactics in the second half did not affect the boys, with Jenson and Lucas putting in some great challenges. Archie pushed for a 3rd goal and should count himself unlucky not to get it.
The opposition kept on battling and managed to grab a goal back after a shot ricocheted off the back of a Chilton player and into the net.
Coaches, Lee Gowland and Luke Murphy said: “The boys played some unreal football especially for our first goal, defended brilliantly also and very unlucky not to keep a clean sheet.”
