On Sunday 28 September, Spennymoor Town Band competed in the Red Admiral National Entertainment Contest which was held in Chorley, Lancashire.
The band competed against eight bands from across the country and were awarded 2nd place. They also received trophies for the best cornets, euphoniums/baritones and percussion sections.
Fiona Casewell, the Musical Director of the band told Spennymoor News: “The band were on great form, all the soloists were brilliant and the individual section prizes shows the quality we have at Spennymoor Town Band. I’m very proud of our team spirit too, supporting each other through every step of our performance.”
The Town Mayor, Councillor Liz Maddison added: “I’m over the moon with this result, we are lucky to have this dedicated band representing our Town.”
