Shildon Town Council is applying for a Veolia Environmental Trust grant to support its aim of becoming net zero. The project would involve installing roof-mounted solar panels and battery storage on suitable areas of the Council Offices and Civic Hall.

As part of the funding application, we would like your feedback. This will help the Council understand local support, concerns and practical issues before deciding whether to proceed.

Leaflets are being delivered across local areas to provide residents with information about the consultation and how they can share their views. As part of the engagement activity, the Community Engagement and Development Co-ordinator will also be out in the community speaking directly with residents, listening to views and gathering comments.

Residents can find leaflets at the Town Council Offices, Civic Hall, Local library and local community hubs.

Consultation will be open until 22 September; please send any feedback by that date.

For more information and share your feedback please contact Shildon Town Council via email council[@]shildon[.]gov[.]uk, phone at 01388772563, and visit their website; https://shildon.gov.uk/.
