“Shildon Alive is pleased to announce the launch of Shildon Together, a new befriending service designed to support people in Shildon and the surrounding area who may be experiencing loneliness or social isolation.
“Our trained befrienders provide regular companionship through home visits, telephone calls or community meet-ups, helping people build confidence, stay connected and improve their wellbeing.
“The service is available to over 55’s who would benefit from additional social support, and referrals are welcomed from health professionals, community organisations, family members and individuals themselves where appropriate.
“We are also looking for compassionate volunteers who can spare a little time each week to make a real difference in someone’s life. Full training, ongoing support and guidance are provided by Shildon Alive.
“To find out more about the Befriending Service, make a referral or enquire about volunteering, please contact Shildon Alive on 01388 417600 or email info[@]shildonalive[.]org[.]uk. Together, we can help ensure that no one in our community feels alone.”
